Our Documentations

Throughout our history, we have been fastidious in our documentation. This has been evident in the numerous boxes of documentation stuff. The cupboards of costumes, masks, props and instruments are testament to the same disease. In an effort to get organized as well as research our own history, we have discovered that much of this ‘stuff’ is valuable. Photos, performance programs, reports, video footage, articles, clippings, and other materials have now been collated into a comprehensive collection, much of which is accessible and will be incorporated into our soon to be opened library spaces.

A research project, supported by the Thai Social Research Institute, has provided a valuable opportunity to research the Makhampom history and methodology. This report is currently being published and will join other research initiatives, including several Masters theses, parts of doctoral theses, and Richard Barber’s current doctoral thesis. The presence of several academics amongst Makhampom’s volunteers and advisors has prompted a call for greater publishing and we plan to produce publications on Makhampom’s work in the coming years. Most of Makhampom’s written materials are in Thai, including the volunteers newsletter, but there are several articles, these, and press clippings in English.
